...And then what happened?
Well, I dropped off the radar quite seriously for a while there. Unfortunately, with my internet access being so limited, and entirely slow and terrible, I've had literally zero motivation to go through my DA inbox. So if I've missed anything important, I'm terribly sorry, I'm a bad DAer but I still love you all

I've been studying and commuting and doing all that fun stuff, and in the process found myself without a job. The bookstore decided they didn't have any ongoing work available for me, so I'm jobless and finding it extremely difficult to find any work. I'm also busy looking for houses while I'm on my midsemester break, which has been stressful to say the least. Fingers crossed something comes of these applications...
And all in all, I've done nothing creative at all since the last time I posted. The unfortunate thing about living with my family again is that I feel extremely guilty just taking time out from everyone and writing or checking DA or whatever, because it is only really seen as wasting time in front of the PC. It irks me, but I can't write unless I feel comfortable. Now I'm just biting the bullet, closing the door, and planting myself in front of the keyboard. The words must be transcribed!!
So that's me. How is everyone?! UPDATE ME!! I'VE MISSED YOU ALL!! (I'm looking at you *

Features
I'm going for something a little different this time for my feature. Instead of choosing one of the many talented DA authors I watch and admire, I'd like to point everyone to a talented and inspiring Australian author by the name of Juliet Marillier.
My love affair with Juliet's books began when I was about 13 or 14. My grandparents bought me Daughter of the Forest for Christmas, and so began a short-lived tradition of receiving her newest book each Christmas or birthday. My grandparents eventually, for some reason, stopped buying them for me, and I was sorely disappointed. I began collecting them myself, devouring them with a fervour bordering on fanatical. I remember one night when I had been reading before bed, and was lying awake for close to two hours wondering what happened next. I ended up turning my lamp back on, and reading steadily through 'til about 5am, determined to finish it because I couldn't bear to put it down even for a moment. Such was Juliet's hold over my imagination.
Her passion for history shows in her thorough research, and is equaled perhaps only by the depth of thought that is present in the fantastic elements of her books. They are an absolute must read for any lover of fantasy novels with a real world setting.
